Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and [Company Name] Pte. Ltd., Singapore ("we"), for the use of the Baobao Tales apps and website. By creating an account you accept them.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. Baobao Tales is made for parents and guardians; any information you enter about a child must be about a child you are the parent or legal guardian of.

What Baobao Tales does

Baobao Tales creates personalised picture books: a story written for your child, illustrated, and read aloud, in English, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese. Each book costs credits. Every new account receives one free credit.

Books can be read and listened to in the app and on the website. Downloading the PDF requires any purchase or an active Storyteller plan.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or with a code sent to your email; there are no passwords. Keep access to that email or Apple ID: it is the only way back into your account. Use the same sign-in method on every device so your books stay together.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@baobaotales.com if you believe someone else has used it.

Credits, purchases, and subscriptions

One credit makes one standard book; Premium illustrations cost three credits. Credits never expire and have no cash value outside Baobao Tales. If a book fails to generate, its credits are returned automatically.

Credit packs are one-time purchases. The Storyteller plan is a subscription that grants six credits each month for as long as it is active; the annual plan grants them month by month. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

In the iOS and Android apps, purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are governed by their terms; manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account, and request refunds from the store. On the website, payments are processed by Stripe; manage your plan from Account, and contact support@baobaotales.com for refund requests.

Prices include applicable taxes unless shown otherwise. We may change prices for future purchases; a change to a subscription price takes effect from the next renewal after we notify you.

If you delete your account, remaining credits are forfeited; cancel any store subscription first so you are not charged again.

Acceptable use

Only upload a photo of a child you are the parent or legal guardian of, and only with the consent confirmed in the app.

Do not request stories that are violent, sexual, hateful, or otherwise unsuitable for children, and do not use the service to harass, impersonate, or harm anyone. Story ideas are screened before anything is generated; a refused idea costs no credits.

Do not copy, resell, or automate access to the service, or attempt to reverse engineer it.

Every book and page has a "Report a problem" option. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

AI-generated content

Stories, illustrations, and narration are generated by artificial intelligence. They can contain mistakes, oddities, or content you did not expect. Please read each book before sharing it with your child.

Illustrations made from a photo are a storybook version of your child, not a likeness. We do not promise that the character will resemble your child, and the photo itself is never shown or stored once the drawing exists.

Books are personal, not professional advice. Educational themes are for enjoyment and are not a curriculum.

Your content and ours

You keep all rights to what you give us: names, plot ideas, and photos. You give us only the permission needed to make and store your books and to operate the service.

You may read, print, and share the books you create for personal, non-commercial use with family and friends. You may not sell them or present them as made by a human illustrator.

The Baobao Tales name, software, art styles, and sample books belong to us or our licensors.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Baobao Tales available, but it depends on third-party AI providers and may be interrupted. A book normally takes a few minutes; occasionally it takes longer or fails, in which case credits are returned.

We may change or retire features. If we ever discontinue the service we will give at least 30 days' notice, keep your books downloadable during that time, and refund unused purchased credits where the law requires.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account or at https://baobaotales.com/en/account/delete; this removes your books and sign-in.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where that is reasonable. Sections on content rights, liability, and governing law survive termination.

Liability

Baobao Tales is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting consumer protections you have under the law of your own country.

We may update these terms; the new version applies from the date shown at the top, and we will tell you in the app about significant changes.
